Thankful Thursday | Thanksgiving Edition | 24 November 2022

Today, I am thankful to be alive. Today, I am thankful for so many friends and family whom I dearly love. Today, I am thankful for my wonderful boyfriend who fills my life with not only adventure, but so much laughter and joy. Today, I am thankful that mom is preparing a mostly gluten-free dinner and what isn’t gluten-free, I’ve been able to afford to prepare myself.

Today, I know there will be empty seats at the dinner table. Some have been empty for a long while, while others are newly empty. Some seats have been empty for a year or two, but the loss is still fresh. Today, I will remember those who used to be here and I will bow my head and remember their joyful memories.

Today, I will work on my memoir and I will also take photos to capture the memories made today with loved ones. I will revel in my creative abilities and cherish what I have in the present moment.

Have a peaceful and safe holiday weekend.

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

I can read between the lines and tell that you are congruent, truly thankful for all the things you mention in this Thanksgiving 2022 post. I’m happy and verklempt knowing that your life is on the upswing!

A relationship that includes lots of laughter is a solid one, in my experience. If a couple shares humor and laughter on a regular basis, it’s a very good sign that they’ll last.

Yessum, we all have those empty seats around the table on holidays, literally and figuratively. I lost a dear cousin a few months ago, and I thought about her yesterday, but gave thanks for our many childhood experiences. She and I were only nine months apart in age and spent loads of time together as kids. Our families also vacationed together.

I wish you a happy Black Friday and a safe and happy weekend, dear friend JM!
