Thankful Thursday 17 November 2022

It’s that time of week again! We’re half-way through Thankful November and it’s hard to believe I have about 6 weeks until I open Happiness Box 2022.

I had to put the contents of Happiness Box 2021 into a scrapbook box; I got to July 2021 and couldn’t keep going anymore. 2021 was a merry-go-sorry year and I just wasn’t into finishing it. Maybe at a later date when I feel a bit more removed from certain memories. Thanks, Christine, for listening to me and reminding me that it’s my decision; if I don’t feel like doing it right now, I can always go back, no big deal. She’s right.

However, I know 2022 will have some challenging moments. I’ll quickly scrap those and move on. In 2019 and before the pandemic hit in 2020, I used to make layouts that I’d put in the Happiness Box and would help me save time. I started doing that again, especially with special moments lately.

These layouts made him verklempt. I’m really grateful for him. We flow; we have the same dark humour, we can laugh at one another, we finish each others’ sentences, we can sing random song lyrics to one another and we know what the other one is talking about, we can even finish the lyrics. Our souls align and it’s a lovely feeling. I love him and he loves me. It’s such a beautiful feeling and I’m glad I met him in March. Although I wish I would have realized things sooner, I’m glad his old co-worker gave me his phone number and we reconnected. This has been the highlight of 2022.

I’m also thankful for friends, family, and both jobs. What are you grateful for today?

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

Yessum, another week and another Thankful Thursday. The end of year holiday period is upon us, and 2023 looms large, promising to be another tumultuous year when we will at times feel the need to “circle the wagons” and keep family and cherished friends close.

Yessum, the Happiness project is your baby. You make the rules. If you aren’t feeling it, don’t do it. Set it aside and come back to it at a later date. The choice to avoid finishing a particular year for whatever reason is part of your life story. It’s all good.

Wow, I love those examples of your layouts! The pumpkin orange of autumn makes the pictures pop, creating very attractive compositions. I’m delighted that David appreciates your artistry in collecting, sorting, organizing, arranging and displaying memories. “Keep the ball rollin’.”

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a wonderful week ahead, dear friend JM!
