Thankful Thursday 27 January 2022

Wow! The end of January already?! It has been a cold and snowy January, which has made it an interesting month to be sure. Everyone talks about how January is the longest, bleak month. I saw it in 2013 and 2014, but nowadays January is bright and quick, for the most part. I have a lot to be thankful for and there’s that.

I want to thank everyone who reached out to me on Nan’s anniversary. I appreciate y’all. Tommy messaged me the next morning and said, “I was thinking about you all day, my love.” I am so glad he gave me a little space and reached out. I am thankful for this man. I love Tommy so much. Tuesday was peaceful and joyful – I honoured what Nan would have wanted. She loved my smile and she loved seeing me happy, so I know she would want to see me that way. My therapist helped remind me.

I’m feeling better this week! My friend left on Monday and I’m good for another month. Tommy and I talked last Saturday, I explained everything to him and he empathized. He could sense I wasn’t myself and wanted to give me some space. I am grateful that I can talk to him about everything and I’m glad things are back to normal again.

We’re going to meet up this weekend. We miss each other and we’re excited to see each other. We’re planning Saturday, but we’re supposed to get a snow storm tomorrow night into Saturday, so Sunday will be our snow date. I’m so excited and I can’t wait to hug him! I can’t wait to spend time with him!

I am also thankful for my jobs and family. What are you grateful for today?

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

Happy Thankful Thursday, dear friend! Seems circumstances are trending in a favorable direction for you once again. You did a fine job of “riding out the storm,” to use a figure of speech, as you observed the sad anniversary of Nan’s death and temporary distancing from Tommy. Nine times out of ten, if you keep calm and keep moving forward, doing your best and being your best every day, things have a way of working out. When you start pulling out of a tailspin, be sure to acknowledge and thank that resourceful part of you that allowed you to get through a rough patch and emerge a stronger, better person. I hope you can keep that snow date with Tom this weekend and have a snow ball with him.

Stay safe and healthy and have a wonderful weekend, dear friend JM!
