I’m thankful for my life. I’m thankful for Tom, and our wonderful date night tonight. It feels great to talk to him about things.

Mrs. Shady roped me into family matters last night, so I needed to sleep on your post. I hope I didn’t get it wrinkled. 🙂 I am so happy to see your life on an upswing, dear friend. Seems like you and Tom are making a date every Thursday. You have already collected many great pictures of the happy couple for your Box. As I watched the latest episode of the TV sitcom The Goldbergs, pop-pop’s new girlfriend spoke a line of dialogue that resonated. She said something to the effect that she didn’t want him to go out of his way trying to impress her. She only wanted him to be himself. It made me think how rare that is in real life. Most of the women with whom I have had relationships in my life have tried their best to change me. Be very thankful if you have found someone who accepts you and actually finds joy being with you just as you are, without feeling the need to change or rearrange you.
Congrats for getting an H-card from friend Mike. Tamale is my 72nd birthday. I am grateful that I made it this far, considering all the poor choices and high risk behavior that I indulged in when I was your age. I am lucky to have survived my own stupidity all those years.
