Holocaust Memorial Day 2021

The Happiness Box strives to be one of the lights in the darkness. I have always loved history and I hope by sharing stories, this will never happen again. Never forget and never again.

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

Thank you for observing Holocaust Memorial Day 2021, dear friend. I watched the entire video and was touched by the poems written by Holocaust survivors. To our dismay, yours and mine, we now see our world drifting into darkness, a darkness that makes the unthinkable and the unspeakable possible. Who knew that the United States of America could once again become so divided and on the verge of Civil War? It strikes me as ironic that the Republican party is today undergoing an historic split into two camps – traditional conservatives and far right radicals, and that the Democratic party, once known for being splintered and unwieldy, has come together to form a rainbow coalition and resist, protest and get out the vote in record breaking numbers. In 2020 we got the job done nationally and in Georgia, but there is much more work to do. It has become clear that we must run the table from now on, turn out in force to vote and win every election, because the next time we lose might be the last time we are even allowed to vote or that our votes will actually be counted. We are met on a great battlefield in a struggle between darkness and light, truth and misinformation, love and hate. United we stand. Divided we fall. We are called to action like never before in your lifetime or mine. We can no longer stand on the sidelines and turn a blind eye to injustice. Each of us must take responsibility and get involved. Each of us in our own way must be the light in the darkness lest history repeat itself and we endure another dark winter of Holocaust.
