I created the tribute page for Mimi yesterday. I also found 8.5×11 page protectors and I added the song that Mariah composed for me into the scrapbook. I wrote the poem and she wrote the music. I’m grateful that Mariah did that for me; after Mimi was diagnosed with mouth cancer, I told her and she offered to write music if I wanted to write a poem. She sent me the song a day before Mimi died.
I burned the song to CD and I recorded Mimi’s Song for this blog:
Mimi’s Song
Jessica Marie
In the sun where warmth glows, gray paws neatly stretched out in rows that makes her place, where memories lie of a decade filled with love from an angry sky, stories and songs in the distance flow. I am old; a few months ago Drool hangs low; I fight an aging foe, |
I started putting some of the cards on the opposite page. I just have to find the Rainbow Bridge poem. I will cherish these photos, cards, sheet music, and CD forever. Mimi’s memory lives on, not only in my heart, but scrapbooks.
Thank you, Mariah, for helping me keep Mimi’s spirit alive in song!
Hi, Jessica Marie!
I am verklempt, dear friend. I love animals of all kinds and feel of wave of sadness as you observe what I assume is the one year anniversary of losing Mimi. You rescued her and gave her a cozy home where she spent ten+ happy years. You enjoyed each other’s companionship. Mariah wrote a beautiful song for Mimi and I was moved by your singing of it.

Every time I even begin to read about Rainbow Bridge I break down. I wish and hope there really is such a place somehow, somewhere way up high. I miss my Cocker Spaniel Toto and my zebra finch Chirpee.
I hope you find something to smile about in the coming week, dear friend JM.

Hi Del Rat Tom,
Mimi’s anniversary was 15 January. It was one year this year, next month will be 18 months since she passed. 😦
I’ve been ordering photos and with COVID-19, things are taking longer than normal. I got her photos two weeks ago, but with the power outage, I just didn’t feel like it. I finally got around to scrapping Mimi yesterday.
I hope that you have a great Sunday evening, dear friend.
