I created the tribute page for Mimi yesterday. I also found 8.5×11 page protectors and I added the song that Mariah composed for me into the scrapbook. I wrote the poem and she wrote the music. I’m grateful that Mariah did that for me; after Mimi was diagnosed with mouth cancer, I told her and she offered to write music if I wanted to write a poem. She sent me the song a day before Mimi died.
I burned the song to CD and I recorded Mimi’s Song for this blog:
|In the sun where warmth glows,
gray paws neatly stretched out in rows
that makes her place, where memories lie
of a decade filled with love from an angry sky,
stories and songs in the distance flow.
I am old; a few months ago
Drool hangs low; I fight an aging foe,
I started putting some of the cards on the opposite page. I just have to find the Rainbow Bridge poem. I will cherish these photos, cards, sheet music, and CD forever. Mimi’s memory lives on, not only in my heart, but scrapbooks.
Thank you, Mariah, for helping me keep Mimi’s spirit alive in song!
