Thankful Thursday 11 June 2020

It’s Thursday again already!? It has been nice having electricity back and I will never take electricity on a hot summer day for granted again. Same with having a loving family and shelter. I sent my great aunt a thank you card. I’m still grateful for her taking me in for a few days.

On Monday when I returned to work, I had an e-mail waiting for me from one of the coordinators in Ann Arbor. Since I wasn’t around for a few days, she asked if I was okay. That gesture made me so verklempt and I’m grateful for my corporate Zoom “therapy” sessions. I’m grateful for all the awesome people across the country that join us, I’m thankful that it is a welcoming group. That e-mail made my day and the daily Zoom meetings always make my day.

I’m thankful for Kathleen, Christina, Marsha, and Anna. We were discussing some summer plans and they helped me come to a realization. In my third decade of life, I am going to be examining fair weather friends and who my true blue friends are. I’m finding the four above (plus Claire and a few others) have been, even after our differences. I decided I am going to take some day trips in July and Labour Day weekend… keep the momentum of paying things off going and well, there are no events going on in Jersey this summer, I would rather take day trips, and come home.

I am thankful that where my dermal piercing used to be is healing. I have 3 antibiotics left, will be done Saturday morning. There will be a scar, but I think it’ll fade with time. I’m grateful for medicine, practitioners, and now I can enjoy a more active lifestyle.

What are you grateful for today?

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

Happy TT, dear friend! You never think much about necessities like electricity, food, clean drinking water or safe air to breath until you are without them for an extended period. Yessum, this is a good time for you to count your blessings and identify and acknowledge true blue friends. We are all “over” the quarantine by now but, if you start venturing out on day trips next month, be extra careful. They started opening up the state of Florida a few weeks ago and I just read an article stating that the number of coronavirus cases in the Sunshine State is spiking:

I hope your dermal piercing site continues to heal w/o any scarring.

I am thankful that I have two doctor appointments + labs + x-rays all behind me for now and no medical appointments scheduled until late August.

Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend JM!

    1. Hi dear friend,

Oh yeah! I’m going to be very careful. I don’t plan on going back to the office until this is all over. When I venture out, mask and gloves. I feel better about water.

That’s wonderful to hear! I hope everything is okay!
