I’ve been working on NaPoWriMo, and I’m going to complete it this year! 18 days strong, and I’ve got this! This will be my first year finishing the month since 2017 and I’m excited.
I was going to write an Ode to Coffee, but I’m sad to say ) that even though I do like coffee, I have a new addiction that I discovered today. I’ve been a member for a year, but never really did much, my karma was -6 and in the course of a day, my karma soared to 129! Huzzah! Fun tomorrow too! |
Our optional prompt for the day also honors the idea of Saturday (the Saturdays of the soul, perhaps?), by challenging you to write an ode to life’s small pleasures. Perhaps it’s the first sip of your morning coffee. Or finding some money in the pockets of an old jacket. Discovering a bird’s nest in a lilac bush or just looking up at the sky and watching the clouds go by.
Why would you think Reddit is dull?
the information is the most damning accusation of all.
A thread is never monotonous, a flame can be wearisome,
downvoting is mute, however.
A troll, however hard it tries,
will always be pulled under;
with positivity, laughs,
and “you go girl, you should be proud!”
One afternoon I said to myself,
“Why didn’t I discover Reddit before?”
The Juggalos are funny.
The gluten-free group welcoming.
I earned my first award for my tattoo,
it might have been “yikes”
but everyone loved my ink;
and my piercings too-
Reddit is addictive,
quite the opposite of dull,
and I hope the flame never goes out,
when life returns to normal.
Hi, Jessica Marie!
First I want to thank you again for the extra good comment you left on my post for Margaret, connecting the dots between her, Nan and your great Grandma. You really came through as a friend and I very much appreciate it!
Congratulations on crushing National Poetry Writing Month! I often wonder why the month of April is chosen as the month when people are challenged to produce one completed project per day for 30 days. For example three of my other blog friends are currently working their way through the annual April A to Z Challenge. I applaud you for writing 30 poems in the span of a month.
I enjoyed your day 18 submission Ode to Reddit. I too recently discovered the addictive joys of Reddit and agree it is the opposite of dull. There are thousands of interesting sub-Reddits to explore. I’m glad you found a few groups where members share your interests, welcome you with open arms and acknowledge you for who you are.
Thanks again for being a great and supportive friend this morning, dear JM. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
