Dad and I both enjoyed our day out in Baltimore AND the Ravens won! They are 14-2 and we have high hopes that they are going to the Super Bowl. Dad and I can’t wait to do this again, and we hope that next time it’s sunny. This was our second Ravens game where it poured. We must bring the rain to Baltimore, LOL.
Our first stop was Miss Shirley’s Cafe in the Inner Harbor. We arrived at noon and had to wait an hour to be seated. That was okay, we had fun chatting with others. I think I take after dad because he’s good at connecting with others too. We were chatting with this one couple, the guy was a Steelers fan and his girlfriend was a Ravens fan, they were fun to chat with. The guy and I chatted about going to PA state universities and travelling. Before they were seated, we got selfies together. Well worth the wait!
It was well worth the wait anyway because Miss Shirley’s is delicious. This was dad’s first time eating here and this was my first time eating her GF. The last time I was there was in September 2017, before I even had to go GF. Dad was pleasantly surprised with his burger and I was pleasantly surprised with my GF chicken, turkey bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich with cheese grits and a side of GF cranberry maple turkey sausage. Yum.
We then walked to the Ravens pre-game party and had a blast. Red Dirt Revolution was the band and they were pretty good.
Ah, game time. So much fun and we were hoarse and tired when it ended. We left at the 11 minute mark in the 4th quarter and watch the winning play from Gameday Firehouse, which was across the street from M&T Bank Stadium. That was fun too.
We ended our evening at Phillip’s, where we met a nice couple from Austin, TX. They moved down a seat so dad and I could sit together. They were friendly to chat with too.
This was the weekend for my parents and I am glad they both enjoyed their days out. I can’t wait to do this again in 2020!
I love Baltimore, though I haven’t been in years. The Ravens were still the Cleveland Browns back when I was a full-time Marylander so I don’t have an attachment. The Orioles, on the other hand, will always be my team!

I love Baltimore too. I was thinking of moving there before I attempt Toronto again. What was it like to live in Baltimore?
Yes! Orioles and Blue Jays for me! I’m thinking of seeing the Orioles in the summer.

Hi, Jessica Marie!
You treated both of your parents well, dear friend. I am not thrilled that The Ravens beat my Steelers 🙂 but happy to learn that you and your dad had a great time in Baltimore. It looks like midnight in those game photos! You guys really did bring the rain with you. I am also pleased to learn about the two places you went to eat. Phillips Seafood is definitely my kind of eating establishment. Glad you encountered friendly folks and found healthy GF choices on the menu.
Happy new year, dear friend JM!
