Thankful Thursday 19 December 2019

The second to last Thursday of the end of the year and decade. Where did the time go?

I’m thankful for the kindness of everyone this week. People at both jobs gave me gifts, a co-worker treated me to lunch today at my full-time job, the new director gave all of us cards (old director did nothing), and both managers at my FT job and the library gave me gifts, which I will open on Christmas. I wait to open my gifts til the 25th.

I’ve received a bunch of cards this week. Since I sent cards and newsletters to both airbnb hosts in Brighton Beach and Neptune City, the Neptune City host sent me a card! I’m going to put it into my happiness box and I’ll open it in the new year. I’m beyond grateful and I absolutely love Air Bnb. Have stayed with great people and met wonderful people too.

Michelle, my friend I met while in Toronto in 2016, sent me a card. I opened it early. Michelle is s friend I made 4 years ago when I visited Toronto. Corey, her husband, was cool too. I want to get back to Toronto this year, to visit and to see more of it before I try Canadian residency again.

Another that will go into the box. From my great aunt…it makes me happy that my newsletter and card made her happy. 🥰

I’m grateful that my FT job thought about me at the holiday party by ordering me Panera. One of the managers reached out to me on Monday about what I wanted to order, so I told her and before she made the order, she confirmed that everything was correct. I am verklempt that they did that. I was over the moon. I also am grateful that my friend James and his wife agreed to a photo towards the end of the holiday party.

I’m thankful for the love of friends and family. What are you thankful for?

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

I am happy to find out about all the gifts, cards and gestures of kindness that have touched your life in the most wonderful way as Christmas nears. You have many demonstrative friends and family members who walk their talk. You looked fabulous in that picture with James and his wife. I hope you can return to Toronto in 2020, Friends Michelle and Corey are waiting for you there.

I am thankful that most renovations have been completed at the house Mrs. Shady and I will move into next month. We got word yesterday that the painting crew has finished repainting all interior walls and baseboards. I can’t wait to drive across the state tomorrow morning and see what the house looks like and breathe that “new house smell.” I will be pubbing a new post first thing in the morning but will be absent from blogging all day and evening and will not be able to reply to comments until late evening or Saturday, We are taking a loaded U-haul plus another loaded vehicle and will need to offload and distribute our possessions once we arrive. This is a very hectic time for us and unfortunately we cannot focus on holiday celebrating this year.

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend, dear friend JM!

  2. Happy holidays to you!

I am thankful for the Saturday we’ve just enjoyed as a family – the first in ages for which we had absolutely nothing on the calendar. So, we just did what we felt like. Wonderful.
