Since I was feeling so low last week, I decided to take the week off from blogging. I feel much better! I want to thank everyone for their comments and well wishes. I’m thankful for you, dear readers. ❤
Last Friday, I went ice skating at the River Rink. They had their tree lighting ceremony and their firework show to kick off the season. Watching the lighting and fireworks was magic… there’s something so magical about this time of year. As I was skating, one of the staff members skated along with me and said, “It’s so nice to see you skate in the center now! You’re doing great; keep up the great work!” I beamed and I told him I took lessons in New York City back in March; we chatted and he agreed to a selfie. I am so thankful for that kindness and I’m thankful that I had the opportunity to experience the beauty of the season, absolutely free.
Last Saturday, tattoo #2 turned one month and since I was in the city for Elfreth’s Alley for Deck the Alley, I decided to pay Doug a visit. He looked at the tattoo, it’s fully healed, he said I’m taking a great job of caring for it, and gave me some advice. I told him I would be back and I’ve been recommending him. He smiled and I smiled; I love my artist and I’m grateful for him.
At Deck the Alley, the Bachmann Players from Easton, PA let me join their group, we walked around Elfreth’s Alley caroling. They welcomed me with open arms and after our performances, they each gave me hugs and said, “if you’re ever in Easton, join us!” I guess I am an unofficial Bachmann Player. I can’t sing to save my life, but it was fun singing. I’m grateful that they included me.
I’m grateful for friends, family, and co-workers; I am thankful for what each and every one do for me. My heart is full and I am truly blessed.
What are you grateful for?
Hi, Jessica Marie!
Happy TT to you, dear friend! You had a magical evening at River Rink and I couldn’t be happier. Those are stunning pictures of the Christmas tree, the skaters (including you) and fireworks exploding in the nighttime sky above your head. By osmosis I can feel the excitement in the air. It was nice of the rink staffer to skate along with you, exchange friendly chat and offer encouragement about the progress you are making as a skater.
I am pleased to know that your second tat is all healed up and that the artist praised you for taking such good care of it. You took some excellent pics of The Bachmann Players, too, and they were obviously filled with holiday spirit when they welcomed you to join them on their caroling tour, creating a win-win. Why can’t more people get it through their heads that welcoming and including people feels so much better than building walls to shut them out?
I wish you a wonderful Friday and a safe and happy weekend, dear friend JM!
