Last night I ventured to the Rothman Rink to ice skate. It was much more crowded than I anticipated, but I skated for 50 minutes, in the center, without falling. I’m getting better! If someone would have told me four years ago that I would be an awesome ice skater, I would have laughed in their faces. With dedication, getting back up after I fall down, and one lesson in New York City, but tons of watching others, I am getting better! I am proud of myself.
Hi, Jessica Marie!
50 minutes on ice skates without falling? That’s 49 minutes longer than my personal best, dear friend! 🙂 Based on the pictures, it looks like the temperature was lower last night at Rothman Rink than it was the last time you went skating, which I believe was in the warmer afternoon hours. The firmer ice might have helped you navigate. Whatever the reason, I am thrilled that you have made so much progress in the last few years. Do you realize that “getting back up after I fall down” is a powerful metaphor that also applies to other aspects of your life? You can indeed to proud of yourself for not giving up. I am proud of you, too.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, dear friend JM!
