Halloween Recipe: Bloody Garlic and Parmesan Lungs

Every October, I try to make something Halloween inspired for dinner. Since my parents were spending their anniversary in Rehobeth Beach, I made Bloody Garlic and Parmesan Lungs with beetle sacks (dyed chicken breast, then GF black lentil pasta in a GF alfredo sauce). It was an interesting recipe and I want to share it with you.

  1. in a skillet add oil and garlic. heat till hot.. place chicken breast in pan and squeeze red food color all over chicken on that side. until its nice and bloody all over.. flip and repeat. Let simmer on each side for 10 min.

  2. Place 3 drops of black food color on each chicken breast. in random spots. flip and do the same to other side. this will end up almost looking like smokers lungs.

  3. Sprinkle both sides of chicken with Parmesan cheese. The garlic and cheese will dye as well.

  4. Cover and cook for about 10 more minutes each side. Covered with a lid.

  5. Meanwhile.. for the beetles n puss sauce..

  6. Place Alfredo sauce and mushrooms into a pan and heat through.

  7. Gently stir in black macaroni noodles.

  8. Transfer to serving bowl and sprinkle with shredded Parmesan. Serve alongside your lungs!

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

I spent many happy days on the sand and in the water at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. I hope your parents are having a good time there and I wish them a happy anniversary.

Ewww! Your Bloody Garlic and Parmesan Lungs with beetle sacks dish doesn’t sound edible but it sure looks delicious. I will make sure Mrs. Shady sees the recipe. She uses ample amounts of garlic and olive oil in her cooking. Thanks for sharing this creepy Halloween recipe and have a great week, dear friend JM!

    1. Hi Tom,

Their anniversary was 10 October, so they have been home for 2 weeks. They had a blast!

I think the both of you would enjoy. I couldn’t find black, so I used red and blue, but they still look black!

      Have a great day!
