Yesterday one of my co-workers at my full-time job surprised me yesterday. While I was out on my walk, she decorated my desk. I was surprised and verklempt when I walked in and saw my desk. I was crying tears of joy. When I clocked back in, she brought over a gluten-free cake and my co-workers sang happy birthday. They also gave me a $20 gift card. I am beyond grateful.

That was such a sweet surprise, dear friend! It reminds me of the time I went to my office at the TV station and found that my girlfriend (the future Mrs. Shady) and her daughter had secretly entered it and decorated extensively for valentine’s Day – red ribbons, streamers, hearts and balloons everywhere. It was the most romantic gesture I ever received. Your co-workers really came through for you on your 30th birthday, but these things don’t happen in a vacuum. Throughout the year you are kind and generous to them and what goes around comes around.
