Thankful Thursday 27 December 2018

The last Thankful Thursday in 2018! I can’t believe it! I can’t believe how quickly this year has flown by, although I say that every year. I have a lot to be grateful for this year and I totally feel blessed. 2018 has been a great year overall.

Today I met up with Ronald for lunch. Ronald is a friend I met while riding on the Rambler, the community bus, for a few years before I found full-time employment. When I’m not working at my full-time job, we try to meet up for coffee or lunch. We met up for Starbucks and caught up. I’m thankful for his friendship.

The Rambler driver also gave me a holiday card today. I feel grateful and it was such a kind gesture.

I’m also thankful for my family and other friends. Since I’ve only been working the library this week, for the past two nights I’ve been cooking my parents dinner. Yesterday we had Cornish game hens and tonight we had gluten-free Singapore noodles. I’m grateful for these moments we spend together.

(I had to make my own curry powder for the Singapore noodles since I forgot to buy it)

What are you thankful for?

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

I am out of town, using a borrowed laptop, and still plowing through a seemingly endless string of family gatherings as we distribute presents to the children on Mrs. Shady’s side of the family. Therefore please excuse my tardiness.

Yessum, it is very hard to believe the last Thankful Thursday in 2018 has come and gone! I’m glad you concluded 2018 was a great year, all things considered. If we all stopped to actually count our many blessings, we would easily reach that conclusion. It’s nice that you met friend Ronald for coffee and lunch. What a pleasant surprise to receive a holiday greeting card from the bus driver! You bring out the good in people, Jessica! It was kind of you to show your parents how much you appreciate them by preparing dinner for them. Mrs. Shady occasionally makes us Cornish game hens. The dishes you served look yummy, and I am happy you are discovering so many gluten-free choices.

I am thankful for your ongoing friendship and support, Jessica Marie. Happy new year to you, and best wishes for a safe, healthy and prosperous 2019!
